Wendy van Straaten is a facility technician in the department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology, and Biophysics at Utrecht University. She is responsible for generating complex cellular systems using human cells. She uses optogenetic inducible tools and live cell imaging to study intracellular transport. Wendy graduated with BSc in Life Sciences from the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht and MSc in Medical Biology from Radboud University in Nijmegen. Her research interests include microscopy, proteomics, and molecular biology. In her personal life, she enjoys outdoor activities like going to the beach or to the gym, but she also likes spending time with family and friends.
