iGEM

The iGEM (international Genetically Engineered Machine) Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of synthetic biology, education and competition, and the development of an open community and collaboration. It conducts an annual world-wide synthetic biology competitions for university students. This provides students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and push the boundaries of synthetic biology by addressing unique challenges in their local communities. More information on iGEM competition can be found here: https://competition.igem.org/

The global iGEM competition focuses on knowledge sharing and therefore one of the judging criteria consists of the partnerships performed by each team with other teams. To this end, CLT creates a common platform for the Dutch iGEM teams to come together, network and kick-start the collaboration. CLT is also the co-sponsorer of the iGEM teams of TU/e and WUR.
