Jasper Melenhorst works as a research assistant in the Microbial Physiology research group within the Laboratory of Microbiology at the Wageningen University. With a background in life sciences and biochemistry, his academic experiences have given him a strong practical background and a passion for the molecular world. In his previous research, Jasper studied lactic acid bacteria using high-throughput screening methods and helped to develop methods for a robotics system. In his current role in the Laboratory of Microbiology, he will be assisting in various research topics and helping to set up a high-throughput screening system. In his spare time, he loves building nature style aquariums, weight training, and motorcycle touring.
