Synthetic Microbial Cultivation

The Laboratory of Microbiology at WUR has broad experience in working with anaerobic microbial systems. The lab hosts anaerobic cultivation pipelines, anaerobic chambers for molecular and biochemical work, and anaerobic bioreactor setups. At the CLT we aim to develop and study anaerobic microbial synthetic communities, with a focus on understanding microbial interactions. The center aims to innovate and expand the anaerobic infrastructure (e.g high-throughput cultivation, anaerobic live cell imaging, and analysis techniques), develop tools for microbial community control, and promote the development of multi-organism biotechnological applications.
